On October 20, the “Beautiful Harmony, Enchanting Local Melodies” Central and Eastern European International Village Music Festival took place in Tunxi District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. The evening featured a captivating array of performances, where the piano filled the air with beautiful melodies, the flute produced enchanting notes, and the erhu played mesmerizing tunes, creating a stunning tapestry of music that blended artistry and emotion.
As global cultural exchanges deepen, music emerges as a vital bridge for cross-cultural communication. In an effort to further promote international artistic collaboration and convey messages of peace and beauty, musicians from both China and abroad gathered to appreciate the scenic countryside and partake in a rich artistic celebration.
Italian artists delivered several classic pieces, including “Ode to Peace” and the first movement of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata.” Attendees experienced the best of both worlds, with performances of Western musical classics alongside unique traditional Chinese music, like the Peking opera piece “A Hundred Flowers Presenting a Sword” and the solo “Encounter in the Rain in Huizhou.”
Andrea Ceccameri, a flutist from Italy, remarked, “Huangshan is a beautiful city, and the people here have a deep affection for music. It’s meaningful to convey messages of peace and beauty to the world through this universal language.”
The festival’s venue, Bansha Village in Tunxi, Huangshan, is blessed with extraordinary natural scenery—surrounded by lush mountains and waters, with quaint ancestral buildings scattered throughout, lending a unique charm to the musical event. Renowned Italian soprano and vocal coach, Gianna Giudice, expressed her awe: “This is my first time in China, and it’s absolutely stunning. I’ve witnessed the unique antiquity and beauty of the countryside; everything here feels so wonderful.”
In recent years, Tunxi District has actively worked on establishing its “International Reception Hall” brand, making the Central and Eastern European International Music Festival a significant step in cultural exchange. This event represents a key initiative to enhance the area’s cultural and tourism industries, promoting comprehensive rural revitalization and the integration of cultural and tourism development.
