On October 27, the “Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Students National Condition Education Base” was officially launched at the Guizhou Provincial Socialist College.
This initiative is a collaboration between the Guizhou Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Jinan University, aimed at enhancing cooperation in various fields, including overseas united front work, national condition education for youth from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, as well as cultural and technological exchanges and talent cultivation. The partnership will foster resource sharing and mutual benefits for both parties.
Jinan University, known as China’s first government-established institution for overseas Chinese education, holds a distinguished reputation. It is managed directly by the Central United Front Work Department and recognized as a “Double First-Class” institution, making it a top choice for overseas Chinese and students from Hong Kong and Macau who seek advanced studies. It also serves as the largest talent cultivation base for high-quality students from these regions, earning the title of “the highest institution for overseas Chinese.”
Guizhou and Jinan University have maintained a strong collaborative relationship. In June 2024, the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China signed a framework cooperation agreement with Jinan University, focusing on joint program development, training for officials, research cooperation, and resource sharing, all aimed at innovating the united front work model between local governments and universities.
The Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party and the Guizhou Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office will work closely with Jinan University to capitalize on this opportunity. They intend to strengthen communication, enhance cooperation, and build an efficient coordination mechanism to better utilize Guizhou’s diverse resources. The goal is to contribute to the province’s efforts in accelerating the establishment of a new inland open economy and support the comprehensive advancement of national rejuvenation and modernization in China.
During the ceremony, the Guizhou Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Jinan University officially signed the agreement for the establishment of the National Condition Education Base for Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Youth. Jinan University also awarded plaques to six participating institutions, including the Guizhou Provincial Socialist College.
