The 6th Anhui Province National Fitness Games opens

On October 12, the 6th Anhui Provincial Fitness Games officially kicked off in Hefei, with an impressive ceremony that drew attention from athletes and spectators alike.

The Anhui Provincial Fitness Games, held every four years, is the largest and most comprehensive fitness event in the province, featuring a staggering 34 major events and 295 sub-events, with approximately 7,000 participants expected this year.

This year’s games showcase a mix of popular sports, including the “Three Big Balls” (soccer, basketball, and volleyball) and the “Three Small Balls” (table tennis, badminton, and tennis), as well as activities like square dancing, tai chi, and fitness qigong. In addition, the games will feature trendy sports such as roller skating and sports dancing, alongside five new events that highlight both emerging and traditional specialties: street dance, e-sports, Chinese wrestling, karate, and dragon boating.

The official competitions are set to take place from July to the end of October in Huabei City. Following the opening ceremony, attendees can look forward to a variety of competitions, including e-sports, square dancing, and five-a-side soccer, among other events.

In recent years, Anhui has made significant strides in promoting the implementation of national fitness initiatives, continuously improving the quality of public sports services. As a result, an increasing number of citizens are paying attention to, supporting, and participating in sports, making fitness an integral part of their lives.
