The 32nd Golden Eagle Awards were announced, Fan Wei and Zhao Liying won the Best Actor and Actor Award

On the evening of October 20th, the 32nd China TV Phoenix Awards ceremony and the closing gala of the 15th Golden Eagle TV Arts Festival took place in Changsha, Hunan. During this prestigious event, Fan Wei and Zhao Liying were honored with the Best Actor and Best Actress awards respectively for their performances in the television dramas “The Long Season” and “Wind Blows in Half Summer.”

The drama “The Three-Body Problem” received the award for Best Television Drama, and its director Yang Lei was recognized as Best Television Drama Director. Qin Wen took home the Best Television Screenwriter award for her work on “Blossoms.” Additionally, several shows including “Questioning the Vastness,” “Wind Blows in Half Summer,” “Where the Wind Blows,” “County Committee Courtyard,” “Crazy,” “Dream of Splendor,” “The Long Season,” and “Blossoms” were awarded for excellence in television drama.

Wang Jingchun, who played a police station chief in “Police Honor,” won the award for Best Supporting Actor, while Gao Ye received the Best Supporting Actress award for her outstanding performance in “Crazy.” He Jiong was named Best Television Program Host, and his show “Sound Life: Treasure Island Season” won Best TV Variety (Arts) Program. The documentaries “Bajin” and “Yellow River Peace” received the Best Television Documentary award, and “Boonie Bears: The Little World” was declared the Best Television Animation.

In her acceptance speech, Zhao Liying expressed, “I feel very fortunate to encounter such a vibrant and life-filled female role.” She referred to her character “Xu Banxia” as a defining part of her life, stating that she helped restore her confidence during a time of great uncertainty. Fan Wei, who could not attend in person, shared his acceptance message via video and revealed his “small goal”: despite his age, he hopes to take on roles that differ from his past ones to provide the audience with even more captivating stories.

The evening also saw the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Television from the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, awarded to nonagenarian actor You Benchang and director Zhang Shaolin.

Established in 1983, the China TV Phoenix Awards are co-hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Television Artists Association. Since 2005, the event has been held biennially.
