Hong Kong, October 21 (Xinhua) – According to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the 2024 International Financial Leaders Investment Summit is scheduled to take place from November 18 to 20 in Hong Kong. The event is expected to attract hundreds of top financial leaders, including over 100 chairpersons or CEOs from various institutions.
Having previously hosted this summit in 2022 and 2023, this marks the third iteration of the event. Eddie Yue, the CEO of the HKMA, shared that the first two summits received strong support and positive feedback from global financial leaders. “We hope Hong Kong can continue to host this event,” he remarked, noting its established reputation and brand in the global finance community. The summit has become a staple in many financial leaders’ annual agendas, leading the organizers to make it a recurring high-profile financial event in the Asia-Pacific region.
Yue introduced the theme for the 2024 summit: “Navigating Change in Turbulent Times.” This theme emphasizes the international finance sector’s need to manage risks, adapt, and seize new growth opportunities amid a complex backdrop of macroeconomic challenges, geopolitical shifts, technological innovation, and climate change.
The main summit and the “Dialogue with International Investors” seminar will be held on November 19 and 20, focusing on a range of topics including tackling complex global environments, market trends, investment opportunities, the risks and rewards of the new technology era, and the financial development of mainland China.
Yue emphasized that these discussions will have profound implications for the global economy and international financial markets. He believes that the high-caliber insights shared by participants will significantly aid Hong Kong in addressing vital issues such as maintaining financial stability, strengthening the financial sector, and leveraging finance to support economic growth amid the current intricate external environment.
