Routes from Chongqing to Kuala Lumpur increased to 11 flights per week

On October 16, at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, we learned about an exciting development aimed at strengthening economic and cultural ties between Chongqing and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to reports, AirAsia X launched a new route connecting Chongqing to Kuala Lumpur, which will complement the existing Xiamen Airlines flights that operate seven times a week. This expansion brings the total weekly flights between Chongqing and Kuala Lumpur to an impressive 11.

The AirAsia X service will utilize Airbus A330 aircraft and is set to operate four times a week. The outbound flight, D7809, is scheduled to depart from Chongqing at 2:00 AM local time, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 7:10 AM. The return flight, D7808, will leave Kuala Lumpur at 7:35 PM and reach Chongqing at 12:45 AM the next day.

Kuala Lumpur, known as a vibrant international city that blends Eastern and Western cultures, offers travelers easy connections to various Malaysian destinations such as Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Ipoh, and Langkawi via AirAsia. Additionally, passengers can connect to international flights to countries like Indonesia and Australia.

Furthermore, it’s noteworthy that China has extended its visa-free policy for Malaysian citizens until the end of 2025. In a reciprocal arrangement, Malaysia will also extend its visa-free policy for Chinese citizens until the end of 2026.
