NNL Shows Accountability, Presents  Audited Account to Congress

In a groundbreaking development, the Nigeria National League (NNL) recently unveiled its inaugural audited financial report during a congress held last week in Bauchi. This unprecedented achievement has drawn acclaim from stakeholders and signifies a pivotal shift in the league’s approach to financial oversight.

Mr. George Aluo, Chairman of the NNL Board, highlighted the critical role of auditing and transparency in building trust. “We need to gain public confidence in all we do, especially in finance,” he remarked, reaffirming the board’s dedication to openness.

Vincent Akinbami, a partner at the auditing firm engaged in this effort, provided further context on the process. Bringing his experience as a chartered accountant, Akinbami has worked with clubs such as Ranchers Bees and Osun United. He explained that they prepared an 18-month audited account to establish a consistent accounting year, which runs from July to June. Akinbami emphasized that the NNL management has set a benchmark for other organizations to follow.
