More than 20 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area media visited Xiongan

On October 23, the “Everything to the New Future City: A Media Tour of Xiong’an by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” kicked off in Xiong’an New Area, organized by the Publicity and Network Information Bureau of Hebei Xiong’an New Area and Phoenix Media. The launch event drew over 20 media representatives, including chief editors and senior reporters from Phoenix TV, Phoenix Network, Lotus TV, and Hong Kong Commercial Daily.

During the ceremony, Bian Jianguo, a member of the Party Working Committee of Xiong’an New Area and the head of the Publicity and Network Information Bureau, highlighted the significant progress made over the past seven years in the planning and construction of Xiong’an, transforming it from a vision into reality. He described Xiong’an as a “Water City of North China” with an eco-friendly environment and a “Digital City” with intelligent innovations, showcasing the area’s rapid development across seven key aspects.

Bian emphasized that both the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Xiong’an New Area symbolize the new era of reform and opening-up in China, fostering a mutual connection. He expressed hope that this event would serve as a platform to harness the strengths of media from the Greater Bay Area to tell compelling stories about Xiong’an and the region.

Zou Ming, an editor on the Phoenix TV editorial board and Vice President and Editor-in-Chief at Phoenix Network, noted, “As a media outlet closely linked with Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, we consistently strive to communicate shared concerns and information between our regions.”

He added, “Over the next two days, I hope everyone will fully experience the charm of Xiong’an and interpret it through their unique perspectives, showcasing a vivid and lively Xiong’an to the Greater Bay Area and the world.”

Throughout the event, media representatives from the Greater Bay Area will visit key project sites in the Xiong’an New Area, including the Xiong’an starting district, Yannan Dyke, and Ding’an bus station, to capture the vibrancy and dynamism of this “Future City.”
