On October 15, a report from the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) revealed that after approval from the Guangdong Provincial Committee, an investigation has been initiated into Li Ming, the former Party Committee member and Deputy General Manager of the Guangdong Airport Management Group, concerning serious violations of discipline and law.
The investigation uncovered that Li Ming had lost his ideals and convictions, straying from his original mission, showing disloyalty and dishonesty towards the Party, and resisting organizational scrutiny. He disregarded the central government’s eight-point decision by illegally accepting gifts and monetary favors. Furthermore, he violated organizational principles by failing to provide accurate information during official discussions. His ethical boundaries were severely compromised, as he unlawfully held shares in a private company. Abusing his power, he sought personal gain through his position, benefiting others in securing engineering contracts and illicitly accepting significant amounts of money.
Li Ming’s actions constitute serious violations of the Party’s political, organizational, and ethical regulations, amounting to significant misconduct and suspected bribery. Despite the Party’s 18th National Congress’ emphasis on stricter discipline, he continued his illicit conduct, which is of a grave nature and has had a detrimental impact. Consequently, the CCDI’s Standing Committee has made the decision to expel Li Ming from the Party, revoke his retirement benefits, confiscate his illicit gains, and transfer his case to the prosecutorial authorities for legal scrutiny and prosecution, along with the associated assets.
