The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced earlier today that they have completed a “precise and targeted” airstrike against Iranian military objectives in response to recent threats. The strikes began at 2:30 AM local time on October 26th.
In a statement, the IDF declared, “The retaliatory strikes have concluded successfully, and our aircraft have safely returned.” The air force targeted “missile manufacturing facilities” believed to have been used to produce missiles that Iran fired at Israel last year. Additionally, the IDF struck “ground-to-air missile arrays and Iran’s additional aerial capabilities.”
IDF spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, confirmed, “We conducted targeted and precise strikes on Iranian military objectives, neutralizing a direct threat to Israel. The Israeli Defense Forces have completed their mission.” He also warned that if Iran were to initiate another round of attacks, Israel would “be obligated to respond.”
As of around 7 AM local time in Iran, the state media outlet IRNA reported that Israel’s strikes targeted multiple military sites across the country, causing “limited damage” in some areas.
The report indicated that Israel targeted military objectives in Tehran Province, Khuzestan, and Ilam, but Iran’s “comprehensive air defense system successfully intercepted and countered the attacks.”
