On October 15, the “Deepening Reforms to Promote High-Quality Development” series of press conferences was held in Harbin, hosted by the Publicity Department of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Heilongjiang Provincial Government’s Information Office. During the event, it was revealed that there has been a significant increase in incoming and outgoing personnel and transportation vehicles at Heilongjiang’s ports this year, with figures rising by 114% and 48% respectively compared to last year.
Wang Bin, the Party Secretary and Director of the Heilongjiang Entry and Exit Border Inspection Station, provided insights on the initiatives being implemented. He noted that the border inspection station has successfully maintained an average waiting time of no more than 30 minutes for Chinese citizens at entry and exit points. Additionally, the launch of the 12367 service platform offers 24/7 online policy consultation services.
Wang highlighted a series of measures designed to facilitate high-level openness in the region, which include six initiatives to support economic growth, eight measures to boost the ice and snow economy, and five strategies to foster quality development at the ports. A one-stop service center for immigration affairs has also been established to assist foreign visitors, alongside a comprehensive seasonal protection campaign aimed at enhancing safety in tourist areas under the “Police in Scenic Areas for Safety” brand.
The statistics underscore the surge in port activity, particularly during the recent National Day holiday, when Heilongjiang recorded 62,000 incoming and outgoing personnel, along with over 6,000 transport vehicles, signifying increases of 35% and 70% respectively compared to the previous year.
