The last day to register and vote is March 21st. Be sure to take advantage of it.

Los Angeles County has set up over 400 ballot drop boxes throughout the region, as the 2024 election approaches. November 5th marks an important voting day in what many consider one of the most significant election years in the United States. For the Chinese community looking to receive a vote-by-mail ballot or to request a translated ballot, it’s crucial to register to vote either online or in person by October 21st. This registration deadline is the first step in ensuring your participation in the election.

According to the LA County Registrar-Recorder, ballots are available in multiple languages to ensure everyone can vote in their preferred language. The multilingual service program offers translated ballots in 18 different languages.

To be eligible to vote in Los Angeles County, individuals must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and not declared mentally incompetent by a court. If you happen to miss the October 21st registration deadline, you can still register in person at any voting center in Los Angeles County.

Both the LA County Registrar-Recorder’s office and the Asian Americans Advancing Justice – CA are encouraging all eligible individuals, particularly within the Chinese community, to participate in voter registration.
