Xi Jinping meets with Putin- Promote strategic coordination and pragmatic cooperation in various fields among BRICS countries and strive for more new opportunities for the -Global South-

On October 22nd, during a meeting held at the Kremlin in Kazan, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed strategies to enhance cooperation among BRICS nations.

In his remarks, Xi emphasized that the BRICS cooperation mechanism serves as a crucial platform for emerging markets and developing countries to unite and collaborate. He described it as a pillar for promoting a multipolar world and an inclusive global economy. The upcoming BRICS leaders’ summit, marking the first meeting since the group’s expansion, is set to play a vital role in advancing what Xi referred to as “Great BRICS Cooperation.”

“I look forward to engaging with President Putin and other leaders in a deep discussion about the future development of the BRICS cooperation mechanism,” Xi stated. He expressed hope for achieving consensus, sending a positive message of unity and collaboration, and enhancing strategic and practical cooperation across various fields among BRICS nations. This effort aims to create more opportunities for the “Global South” and contribute significantly to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
