On the evening of October 9th, the 2025 Spring/Summer Shanghai Fashion Week kicked off at the picturesque Tai Ping Lake in Shanghai’s Xintiandi. The inaugural show drew inspiration from contemporary artist James Turrell, creating a striking interplay of light and color that set a captivating tone for the attendees.
Models showcased the latest collection from COMME MOI, gracefully strutting down the runway. The designs, characterized by tassels, gradient colors, and elements drawn from nature, reflected the brand’s chic French flair. A diverse array of materials—ranging from sheer mesh to warm wool and cozy down—was expertly crafted into silhouettes that varied from light and airy to substantial and elegant. Adding to the ambiance, musician Liu Min composed the theme music for the fashion event, blending romantic retro sounds with modern electronic beats.
This season, Shanghai Fashion Week embraced the theme “Seeing New Ecologies,” with the vision of establishing more fashion landmarks in Shanghai and fostering a unified “Launch Collective.” Coinciding with the fashion week, the MODE Shanghai Apparel and Accessories Exhibition made its debut on the same day under the theme “Peach Blossom Arc Light,” bringing together nearly 300 original design brands. This exhibition represents a collective aspiration within the fashion industry to innovate and explore new avenues.
